Good afternoon, HES Families!

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us make arrival safe, smooth, and efficient for all of our students and families. As we settle into our routines, please review these important reminders:

•  If you are driving your child to school, you MUST use the car loop.
  Families who drive students to school should remain in the car loop and follow our established arrival procedures. If your child is a walker, this means they are walking to school from home. Please do not park in the school parking lot, near the school exit, or in the surrounding neighborhood and have your child walk into school.  Parking in these areas creates significant congestion, clogs the car loop, and causes delays for both families and school buses. This has been particularly disruptive at the intersection of Martown and Graeloch Roads, where congestion is making it difficult for buses to exit the school lot.  If these traffic concerns continue, police presence will be requested, and vehicles parked in violation of posted restrictions may be ticketed. Please help us avoid this by following the established arrival procedures.
• Please do not have students arrive too early.
  There is no adult supervision prior to 9:10 a.m. Students who arrive early should not be playing near the portables, playground, or other areas of the school grounds. Early arrival can also be disruptive to staff who are conducting meetings and completing important work before the school day begins.
•  Students should go directly to the building when they arrive.
  Once students exit their cars or buses, they should proceed directly to the designated building entrances and wait for the bell. Students should not play on playground equipment or other areas of the school grounds before entering the building. They should not be climbing trees. 
• Bikes & Scooters: Walk Once on School Grounds
  Students who ride a bike, scooter, motorized bike, or motorized scooter to school should park it neatly and securely in the designated bike racks. Once on school grounds, students must walk their bikes and scooters. Riding on sidewalks where other students are walking creates an unsafe situation.  Please also remember that the school cannot be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged bikes or scooters.
• If you and your child arrive after 9:25 am, please walk your child into the building and sign them in. 

We appreciate everyone's help in following these expectations. When we all do our part, arrival is safer, smoother, and less stressful for everyone, including our students, families, staff, and bus drivers!

NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 21!  All HCPSS schools and offices are closed in observance of Yom Kippur.
