Dear HES Parents and Families,
February 1–February 7 is National School Counseling Week, a special time dedicated to recognizing, appreciating, and celebrating the incredible work of school counselors.
In an elementary school setting, school counselors play a critical role in supporting the whole child. They help students develop social-emotional skills, navigate friendships, manage big feelings, and build confidence, while also partnering with teachers and families to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.
We are so fortunate to have Ms. Ryann Plotkin and Ms. Adama Lasisi as our school counselors. They are skilled, nurturing professionals who have built strong, positive relationships with students and are deeply committed to their well-being and success. Our school counseling team is truly an integral part of what makes our school run smoothly and what makes HES such a special place.
We invite you to join us in showering our counseling team with appreciation this week! Feel free to flood their inboxes with kind, appreciative emails, and encourage your children to create cards or letters to share their gratitude.
Thank you for helping us recognize and celebrate this special duo and the meaningful impact they have on our school community.
Warmly,
Heather Moraff, Principal
Nykia Mapson, Assistant Principal
