Something to Celebrate!

We are thrilled to celebrate some exciting news about our students’ reading growth!

From the beginning of the 2025–2026 school year to the end of the school year, Hammond Elementary School reduced the percentage of students identified as at risk for reading difficulties, as measured by the DIBELS screener, by 14.6 percentage points. This represents a 40.7% reduction in the number of students identified as at risk!

This is a significant accomplishment and a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. We are incredibly grateful to our staff for providing engaging, rigorous, and intentional instruction; to our families for attending events such as Literacy Night, supporting learning at home, and helping ensure that our students are ready to learn each day; and, most importantly, to our students, who have worked so hard to grow as readers.

This progress is truly something to celebrate. When we work together, our students achieve!
